Germany vs. Ghana: A “Fight to the Death” in the Group of Death (UPDATE: An Unexpected Draw)

UPDATE: This “Group of Death” battle to the death ended up as a battle to a draw, 2-2.

Previous post:

Group G – featuring Germany, Portugal, Ghana, and the United States – has been referred to as the “Group of Death.” Now, Ghana’s Kevin-Prince Boateng says that in order to win against Germany, his team is willing to fight to the death:

“It’s like in ancient Rome. There will be people around the pitch who want to see how two teams fight. The team who wants it more will win and we will fight to the death against Germany.”

While it’s unlikely the competition will be that intense, it’s likely that Ghana will need to win in order to survive. Find out if they will – or if they World Cup dreams die – at 3 PM ET (7 PM UTC).
