US-Germany Fever At Washington’s Dupont Circle!

Washington D.C., Chicago, Kansas City, New York City, San Francisco: thousands of Americans figured out a way to skip out on work or take a break from studies and find some outdoor space to watch Germany and the United States do battle in their final meeting in the Group G qualifying round of the World Cup.

VOA’s Michael Lipin went to Dupont Circle in the U.S. capital to check out what the scene looked like at midday Thursday as Germany went on to defeat the US 1-0:
